Quick Guide
- Choose a MERV that fits your system: 8–11 for most homes, 13 for finer capture, higher only if your HVAC supports it.
- Find your size: Check the old filter (printed size) or measure the return grille.
- Replace regularly: 1″ filters: every 1–3 months; thicker media: longer.
Tip: Airflow Matters
Jumping from MERV 8 to 16 can restrict airflow on some systems. If rooms feel stuffy, step down a rating.

FAQ
Do thicker filters last longer?
Generally yes. 2–5″ media filters hold more material and can last 3–6+ months.
Are washable filters worth it?
They can reduce waste, but often filter less than high-MERV disposables. Check performance specs.
